Chinese New Year Lookbook

Happy Pig Year & Gong Xi Fa Cai!! New year is about celebration with closest ones, family, and friends. It’s also the time of the year where we buy new clothes and bags for when we go out to pai nin.

This year is the same for me but I was short of time to shop for my CNY bags… I wanted a small bag that can be used both casual and also formal. As I was shopping in Mid Valley, I spotted some of the new Chinese New Year collection from Marie Claire in Bata. The new range was all in beautiful floral embroideries that is really suitable for Chinese New Year theme.

There are 3 different sizes for the bag, one can be used as a backpack and carry on. I find this to be a little big for me. Then another one is like a small wallet/clutch with a lot of compartment for cards and money just like a wallet. Then I saw this medium size one but actually, consider a small bag to me with a gold chain. I find the size just right for me to fit in some money, keys, handphone and angpau too…

Initially, I wanted the one in pink color because I feel it will pair better with my pink, white and red cny clothes… Well, I wasn’t able to decide so I posted on FB & Insta stories and many of you voted for denim. Charmaine even mentioned that it will pair well with Red dress where I am surprised that it really does look good with red after I try it at home.

So since CNY can be hot and cold at night cause it tends to rain this cny, I paired my dress with a denim jacket to also matchy matchy with the bag with extra cool vibes to a girly dress. I can also lose the jacket and switch to heel for a more girly look.

This bag is only RM 129 and the quality is really good too. It’s sturdy and the denim material is not rough. Also I love that there’s so many zipper compartment for me to organize my stash. The chain also make the bag look glam, so it can also be used for any formal event.

The bag also comes with an easy magnetic clasp which is really convenient to close it back.

They also have sneakers with embroideries which so beautiful, I would get that if they have my size. My wide feet is not helping LOL.
