SWITZERLAND 10D9N: Day 7 & 8: Interlaken, Lucern & Mt Rigis

After so much of Glacier watching, we moving to lake view instead… More of a summer view of Switzerland with calm lake water and green mountain on the background. Such a calming and serene lake side view along entire train ride from Interlaken to Lucern.

Arriving at Lucern totally make us feel like Summer no more snow mountain and its blazing hot. We stayed in Ibis hotel and its quite a distance from the train station. Lucern is a big city in Switzerland and most people who go for Europe Trip will stop in Lucern to Visit Mt Titlis and then move to other country. If you have time visit Zermat instead of Lucern, its a different kind of view and experience all together. Back to Lucern, theres a lot of bus and it can be quite confusing to look for which one to take to get to our hotel. Well with some help from the local we arrive at our hotel sweating all over!

Honestly, Ibis Hotel is the least favourite among other mainly because the bed on top meant for those with children is poorly designed that we hit on it a few time. Location is quite far from train station, though it is walkable but with heavy luggage and hot weather, no thanks. The bathroom is exceptionally small and they do not provide floor map making entire floor is wet. The sink located outside open area of the room is not helping too.

After storing our luggage, we head out to explore Lucern city. We walk out instead of taking bus. Lucern is a beautiful city and the building is worth seeing so not regret walking at all.

There’s a few place to visit in Lucerne.

Dying Lion of Lucerne Monument, a memorial located in Lucerne, Switzerland. This monument is a rock relief carved into the cliff face of a former sandstone quarry, and features a dying lion. Sculpted during the early part of the 19th century, the purpose of the Lion of Lucerne was to commemorate the Swiss Guards who lost their lives in 1792 during the French Revolution.

Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrucke), here you see a beautiful bridge decorated with colourful flowers on top of a calming blue lake. There’s a number of swan on the lake too, super instaworthy spot!

There’s also some shop if you want to shop but its super costly!!

As usual at the end of the day we will visit coop to get our dinner and lunch supplies. and we end day 7 early as we go to wake up early for a cruise trip to Mt Rigis.

The cruise trip is one of the best!!

That lake water wave sound is so soothing really and that backdrop jus wow!! too beautiful!!

The cruise stop at Weggis and from there we took train up to Mt Rigis.

Mt Rigis is also know as Queen of Mountain because it’s filled with colourful flowers all over!

Just look at this view?? My jaw kinda dropped……I wish I am standing there as I am typing here!

We walk from Rigi Klum to Rigi Kalbad. The walk is flowerful!!!

I highly recommend visiting Mt Rigis if you have time or choose Rigis over Titlis unless if you have not seen snow mountain then go for both!

and that end our Day 8. It’s was quite exhausting day. Traveling for the 8th day kinda feel tiring already as our luggage is quite heavy and we’ve been moving every two days!!

Day 2: From St Moritz to Tirano using Bernina Express. Diavolezza Mountain Peak. Overnight in St Moritz.
Day 3: From St Moritz to Zermatt using Glacier Express. Overnight in Zermatt.
Day 4: Zermatt to Gornergrat Mountain Peak & Klein Matterhorn Mountain Peak. Overnight in Zermatt.
Day 5: Zermatt to Lauterbrunnen. Lauterbrunnen village tour. Overnight in Lauterbrunnen.
Day 6: Lauterbrunnen to Junfraujoch Mountain Peak (Including stopping at Kleine Schedegg & Wengen). Overnight in Lauterbrunnen.
Day 7: Lauterbrunnen to Luzern using Golden Pass Express. Luzern City Tour. Overnight in Luzern.
Day 8: Luzern to Mount Regis Peak & Luzern City Tour. Overnight in Luzern.
Day 9: Luzern to Bern (City Tour) then to Montreux. Overnight in Montreux.
Day 10: Montreux to Château de Chillon Castle. Leave to Geneva Airport.
