Invitation Innovation

They are one of the nicest things you can create. And for a lot of people the first things they see and hear regarding the fact you are having your wedding. There are many ideas you can use to enhance them. Some are easy others are less so. You can of course get them done professionally, and some of them are really great. But one of the better things you can do with your invitations is make them yourself, personalise them, it gives a great impression to the recipients. This article can help you put the personal touch to your invitations to impress and dazzle. You may have even considered some of these tips already, but read on because you could see something special that could make a difference to your wedding.

Invitations are fairly easy to create because they are relatively small. The issue comes with the amount of them. If you are inviting lots of people and want the invitations to be of a high quality then you may need to get some help or reign in your ambitions. If you want everyone to have the same then you can still get some great free wedding invitations that are personalised to a certain degree. However if you wanted to add crafty touches this may not be for you so much. You need to make your decision as early as possible so you know the amount of work that needs to be done.

You can consider sending generic invitations out to the wider guests and then personalising the ones for close friends and families. You could especially make them for people with functions like bridesmaid, maid of honour, best man, etc. Again, choose early and get your designs right at Bride & Groom Direct. There are all kinds of things you can do. Don’t be disheartened if you aren’t so good with arts and crafts. Practice makes perfect, so buy enough equipment so that you can make a few test run subjects first.

You will want to get thick card. This is important because if you are using glitter glue or strong pens it could become saturated. A thick card can mitigate this. You can also buy pre folded cards so that they are all uniform. You could also consider getting them partially printed. If you don’t have the best handwriting this is a good should because it keeps them all semi-uniform before you make your changes.
In terms of the changes, making the cards 3D in appearance is always a nice touch. This can be done in a myriad of ways. Consider adding bows, bells, ribbons, etc to a corner of the invite. You may also want to do this with the actual envelope, showing people it is something special before they actually open the letter. If not, at least use a special coloured envelope, like silver or gold, then use special pens to write the recipient’s name. If asking them to become a bridesmaid or something similar you can attach a gift. For example a bottle of champagne.

Hope these invitation ideas help you with your wedding preparation. See you in the next post!
