10 things to do in Hotel Equatorial Malacca Staycation

So few weeks ago, I came back to my parents house and my parents were shocked to see I look like round baloon floating into the house hahaha…. I have been enjoying life staycation-ing in Equatorial Hotel Malacca…. All I do that few days were sleep, breakfast, watch tv, lunch, watch tv, evening swim, dinner, watch tv,supper, soak in bath tub and sleep. Repeat the same the next day! How relaxing was that? I wish my life could be like this everyday!!!

The private driver pick us up in KL and off we go to Malacca the Historical state. So this time I just want to enjoy the Equatorial Hotel to the fullest and thus I did not go out to visit Malacca as I have been there countless time. All I want is a relaxing staycation without the need to crack my head to plan for any activities, just go with the flow… You can checkout my previous post on my Malacca trip here.

1. Visit K5, The Street Bistro

As we arrived in the hotel, we were greeted by friendly staff with big welcome smile. We then head to K5, The Street Bistro for a quick afternoon break where we try some of their signature food. K5 located outdoor of Equatorial Hotel gives a really good ambiance for evening tea or a night drink with friends. Sitting outside having tea and Keropok Lekor seem like a good way to begin my evening. Their menu is printed in a unique newspaper template, with some of the Malacca Historical stories on the side.

You gotto try the Keropok Lekor as they are brought from the origin states (Terrenganu) where these Keropok Lekor is famous in. Keropok Lekor is made from ground fish mixed with sago flour. Every bite is filled with the fresh fish flavours, its springy and soft inside but crunchy outside the how I like it to be.

2. Stay in Equator Room

Featuring the thick and soft comfy bed, which is one thing that ensure you have a good night sleep. The room also has a living hall so you will have more space to move around and you can enjoy coffee and watching tv on the sofa instead on your bed.

The reason why I chose the Equator Club room is because it will allows you to dine in Equator Lounge which is totally a different experience all together.

3. Enjoy Breakfast in Equator Club Lounge

So we come to the next thing to do which is to dine in Equator Club Lounge. Not only the setup of the table but the food presentation and taste is way better that the one available in their daily breakfast for other deluxe and premier room’s guest.

There you can also enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the Malacca town.

4. Enjoy the day Bed in the room

This day bed will get you all lazy and relax under the screened sun ray…. I love enjoying the panoramic view while I enjoy my fruit juice and watch tv!

The panaromic view from my room consist part of the Malacca town and at the far end is the seaside.

5. Watch all The Movie

I must say the TV is the bomb. It has a lot of latest blockbuster movie (Civil War, Dead Pool, Batman and many more) and that is why I didn’t want to go out because the movie is so good and I keep watching one after another. This movie program is only available in Equatorial Hotel as they specifically purchased this program to allows their guest to enjoy watching movie after a long day of meetings or touring Malacca.

5. Go for a Morning/ Evening Swim

There is a huge and beautiful swimming pool in Equatorial.Hotel. So go for a good dip in the pool before heading for your breakfast/ dinner.

6. Try Seri Nyonya Restaurant

This is must try food not just when you are in Equatoral but in Malacca too.

So far this is one of the best I have tried. The must try will include Ikan Gerang Asam, Ayam Buah Keluak, Ayam Pong Teh, Sotong Madu and Sago Gula Melaka.

Ayam Buah Keluak, Chicken cooked in spicy aromatic gravy with Kalimantan black nuts. You will need special technique to dig out the nut from the shell.

Ikan Gerang Asam, Fish fillet in aromatic spicy tamarind gravy.

Sotong Madu, Deep-fried marinated squid with chopped onion, ginger and coriander leaves coated with honey sauce.
Sago Gula Melaka, dessert with sago flour and gula Melaka (sugar).
7. Try Nyonya Cooking Class

Instead of just trying out the meal cook by chef why not try making it your self? At Equatorial you egt to learn cooking Nyonya Dishes with Local Nyonya Chef and receive a cert after completing the course.

8. Dance in Zumba Class

Dance your heart out to release all the stress you have in your work and to loose some fat from all the nyonya food you had!!!! It’s a fun and easy move for everyone!

9. Enjoy Spa

What can be better than enjoying an evening filled aromatic scent in the Thera P Spa in Equatorial? Choose the type of massage or spa that best suit your needs and come out feeling rejuvenated.

10. Soak in Bath Tub

How can staycation be no bath tub soaking right? Get your bath salt and bubble bar ready for a good soak before you head to bed!
