Copper @ Menara Shell Review
Looking at their entrance, I find it pretty simple in fact too simple for a European restaurant….Well that’s just for me….
Inside we see a lot of green theme on the wall with plant elements decor and wood furniture with blue themes.
There is also a nice corner for you to enjoy some drinks with your partner.
We begin our meal with a nice mocktail and unique coffee… I ordered this Frozen Ocean which has a blend of apple juice, blue curacao syrup and 7up giving you a refreshing start for the dinner. I like how refreshing it is and not overly sweet just a very cool mix of everything.
Thomas ordered a Pink & Black a very unusual mix of fresh brew espresso, rose, milk and grass jelly. When first order we do not know what to expect and were a little worried that it would come out a little weird? Thank god it was the other way round. It taste very good all together and I really like the grass jelly in it. Still can taste very strong aroma of the espresso but just a tiny bit of rose.
Here comes the appetiser…. The first that came up was Charcoal Grilled Avocado & Calamari. I can finish this all by my self. It taste so good with the glazed soy sauce that’s coat the calamari with the sweet avocado slice. The addition of squid ink puree add extra dimension to the entire flavour of the dish. It’s just perfect. A must have for squid ink fans.
Housemade Hickory Smoked Salmon were another unique dish I have tried. Smoked salmon alongside with some marinated dark berries and roasted beetroot. Sauce filled with lime gel, anise yoghurt and turmeric vinaigrette. Not my favourite because I am not a fan of beetroot and anything with vinaigrette but Thomas like it hehe.
Mushroom fans unite, this is a must try for all of you!!!!!!!!I love is so much I finish every single mushroom with the toast!!!!!! This Pira Oven Mushroom has charcoal roasted Porchini and assorted mushrooms with truffle oil.. Are you salivating already? Not just that, also top with roasted cheese, onion puree and finish with a cracked egg in the middle still runny.
This Shakshuka is everyone favourite that night but sadly this is not the best I tried by far. I still find the tomato puree lack of some tomato goodness…. It was okay not too bad just not the best. It comes with chick chorizo in it as well.
We tried three mains that night and both were quite disappointing. We believe it’s dues to high number of orders that night as there a a number of us plus their walk in customer. Some told us their taste very good but ours are totally out…
Thank god dessert was here to save our night. I absolute love this Grilled Pineapple. A mixture of coconut cream and vanilla with addition of ear grey tea granite. The addition of earl grey tea granite is brilliant, I love it.
This probably the most beautiful Crème Brulee I have seen by far. Taste wise is not so memorable actually. Maybe now they might have improved?
Churos taste okay but not the best.Chocolate dip was too diluted I feel.
So by that we end our dinner. We really lie small dishes at the beginning and the mains is a little disappointing but that probably due to the high order that night. I’m sure they will do better the next round. Alright I got to end this post now bye bye.
