Cellnique Skin Action Sebum Gel Review, Bye Bye Blackheads
May 13, 2014
Hello awesome girls… How’s your week? I had amazing weekend in Singapore last week and I can’t wait to share with you my trip in Singapore!!Hahaha…. Today, I’m gonna review another awesome product from Cellnique which is the Skin Action Sebum Gel. Cellnique never stop to amazed me and this Sebum Gel is a magic bottle that is packed with various benefits that promised to leave your skin shine free and headless be it white or black too!
Skin Action Sebum gel is phyto bio-engineering formulation gel for all skin types to reduce both blackheads and whiteheads on affected skin area without painful extraction. Please note that this gel does not remove blackheads or whiteheads but it help to soften the skin so the head can be easily extracted out. This daily maintenance gel also reduces sebum secretion, leaving the skin clear and producing smooth visible results within 10 days of application.
Skin Type : Normal to Combination Skin & Oily Skin. For dry skin please apply a deep nourishing moisturiser after using this sebum gel and only used on oily/ acne area.
Phyto Bio-engineering TechnologyThe application of engineering principles to address challenges in the fields of plant biology. It applies principles to the full spectrum of living systems. It deals with disciplines of product design, sustainability and analysis to improve and focus utilization of biological systems.
Male Ferm Root ExtractReduce skin inflammatory and irritation with its soothing effect. It is able to control and prevent future breakouts on skin. It also helps improve skin texture.
Potassium Azelaoyl Diglycinate Has been used to control the secretion of excessive sebum thus decrease the formation of blackheads and whiteheads. It is also helps prevent skin discoloration caused by acne or comedones without over drying the skin. Besides, it also increases skin moistures and improves skin elasticity.
Witch Hazel ExtractThe use of Witch Hazel to disinfect the skin has significantly reduces the presence of bacteria on the face, this reduction limits skin inflammation and the likelihood of acne or comedones developing.
Hands down, my all time favourite skincare or cosmetic packaging will always be the pump bottle type. Why? Because they are hygienic, easy to use and usually dispense to right amount of product. This bottle just hit all the point I mentioned earlier and thumbs up for that! Only one tiny thing which is the bottle is not see through so it can be hard to gauge when you need to purchase a new bottle.
Texture & Scent
This come in clear and smooth gel texture. This one is pure smooth and not watery at all with good gel consistency…You know me, I always love my product in gel form… This gel has a very light peppermint scent and a light mint sensation when apply on skin too!!
How to Use
Now this is the tricky part… When I first try the sample I didn’t know how it work and when I Google for some advise there is different types of sequence recommended and I got confused and frustrated at the same time. Now what I am going to advise here on the how to use this product may not be entirely true or accurate but it should be 99% accurate as I had consult with Cellnique beauty therapist on this.
Q: Which sequence shall you slot in this sebum gel? A: Right after you apply your toner and before you apply your serum/ moisturiser.
Q: Where should you apply this sebum gel? A: On oily areas like T- Zone and acne spot. This sebum gel is meant to control oil production and thus apply it on area which you feel it’s oily.
Q: How to apply it on your skin? A: Using circular motion to spread onto desired area of your face.
Q: When should I apply it? A: Apply it daily for both day & night
***TIPS: You must apply moisturiser on the area you have apply the sebum gel to avoid skin drying out and skin will starts to peel off.
First of all I would like to remind that this sebum gel DOES NOT remove blackheads. Please don’t expect your black heads and white heads to came off immediately after the application. Even if you pressed the head immediately after your sebum gel application, the head might not came off. What i experience is when my pores on my nose are entirely clogged with black heads, I apply the gel on and wait for about 30 minutes then I gently squeeze my nose the black heads does came off easily (especially those big ones) without much force applied (If i did not squeeze the black head will remain).
The next scenario is after I went for extraction, my pores are pretty clear and my black head slowly growing day after day… I use the sebum gel every day and night after my toner and when I squeeze the tiny black head they don’t really came off. Thus, I think for bigger black head especially those where the head is slightly hard and protude out it can be easily loosen up by the sebum gel thus result in easy removal.
After 3 week of usage, I can totally see the visible oil control over my T-Zones. Usually it become very oily and shiny during evening especially when I am outdoor. It also help to control formation of my blackhead especially on my nose area…It’s really obvious to the point I was shock myself…For years, my black heads grow so quickly after extraction and honestly I had given up already until i found this life saviour Cellnique Sebum Gel. In addition, when I use the tissue to gently squeeze it just like how I squeeze my nose when I have flue the blackheads came off easily!!
I pair this with Cellnique Acne Gel (I will do a separate review on this) for my acne area…. I was happy that it help to calm down my acne and reduce inflammation. My acne doesn’t grow bigger and it doesn’t turn into milk disgusting yellow colour but it slowly dries out and peeled off by itself…It takes about three week for my acne to completely dries out..
Now see my below skin condition trail over the two week time.. You will be amazed by the result!!
