Knowhere @ Bangsar Review (Eatery, Bar & Cigars)
When it’s dinner time we often ask the other What’s for dinner? Well too often our answer turns out to be Knowhere, and I always think will there a restaurant be named after this? Bam, Knowhere a restaurant and bar located in the centre of Bangsar easily accessible and you can always switch for dessert or cocktails easily because there’s just to much choices there. BUT at Knowhere you can do that all at one place. Main Dinner, Desserts and after hour cocktails with cigar all in one venue under the beautiful fairy light, oh your night will be amazing.
Since it’s Monday, let’s shakes thing up a little! We shall move straight t0 the funky cocktails first shall we?
Oh Monday is always a war zone with incoming problem and task to solve and complete. This Skull Glass (Kopi Negroni) is how my usual Mondays like! This classic drink will never go out of date. Certainly not a lady drink but if you are up to strong cocktail with classic identity this is for you. Just pour the Spiced Rum onto the homemade Kopi Tongkat Ali liqour & Kopi Hitam. Oh man I guess this combo could be a good Monday night drink!! Confirm KAO!
Ok we start off really strong, let’s move to something ladies will love. You know why? Because I love It’s Nangka Thyme so much. It’s sweet but not too much with a hit of sour from the grapefruit & lime juice. It’s finished with a shot of Jackfruit and Habanero infused Rum with thyme soda and curry leaves.
Let’s go with another mild cocktail. Sirap Setan, comes with local favourite aromatic pandan leaves and lemongrass infused Gin with homemade
rose water, cherry blossom & sours.
Another classic and this is not your usual caramelised popcorn instead the popcorn syrup is stirred with the whisky. Smoked Popcorn Old Fashioned is served in a enclosed glass chamber with grapefruit bitters smoked with in house wood chips.
I guess we still need some food to fill our busy Monday! Knowhere has numbers of tapas for starters. Most of them are flavours and delicacies from all over the world but with some local twist into it.
Often Grilled Calamari is served on it’s own or sometime with tomato salsa but at Knowhere, you odd to dip it with Belacan Salsa the Malaysian Way! Oh this is my favourite tapas of the night, soft and tendy yet chewy! I can have it all night!
Malaysian has a special love for sambal! For any staple, there’s got to be sambal for dipping or sambal is cooked witht he main dish. Here is no different too where the plumped Mussel is cook with Sambal and Basil Lime.
I don’t quite get the name on the menu for this dish at first. Smoked Plume & Plums. Well plume is actually a type of smoke that resembles feather appearance and in this case it’s smoked duck served with Plum & Peach Salsa, Mango Sauce and Onion Marmalade . This one is really appetizing and will get you started for the heavier mains.
Knowhere Nachos, the Crispy Fried Corn Tortillas top with Knowhere Sauce, Guacamole, Jalapenos, Monty Jack Cheese and Pulled Roasted Chicken. Oh man this is soooo good… One of the best I tasted so far!! Thinking of it makes salivating now.
Who would say no to steak? The Flank Steak is seared, sliced and then drizzled with Chili Burnt Butter Sauce. This Burnt Butter Steak almost melt in my mouth, so flavourful and tender too.
Chicken Liver Pate has strong flavour with thick consistency. Slightly bitter and flavourful.
Duck Confit Pizza is filled with delicious Confit Duck and Onion Marmalade.
Chicken Mexicana Pizza filled with juicy Grilled Chicken, Chicken Sausages, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, Jalapenos and Olives.
If you looking for a place to enjoy some tapas with affordable cocktails, go to no where but Bangsar’s Knowhere!
