Fez

The city of Fez is a large UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the oldest cities in the world. It is also the world’s largest car-free zone as well. You will come across pretty squares with fountains and traditional cafes selling fragrant food!

 

Marrakech

Another one of Morocco’s most popular cities is Marrakech. In fact, this city is so popular, it is where most tourists to the country head to. You can spend a day strolling through the pretty Majorelle Gardens, which are known for their ornate fountains and exotic flowers. It is also worth visiting the Jemaa el-Fnaa – the city’s largest market is a bustling space where you can really experience the best of Moroccan culture.

Chefchaouen

So, you will have probably already heard about Marrakech and Fez but have you heard about Chefchaouen? The city dates back to the 1400s, so there is plenty for history lovers to explore. Not only that but the city is known for its brightly colored buildings, which will make for some gorgeous Instagram snaps!

 

Menknes

In the north of Morocco, the city of Menknes is known for its ancient center and vibrant suburbs. There are lots of historical sites you can explore including one of Morocco’s best-preserved gates the Bab Mansour, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. For even more history, set aside a few hours to experience the Dar Jamai Museum.

Ouarzazate

When you think of Morocco, what do you imagine? If you see huge deserts and sandy winds, then you should definitely spend a few days in Ouarzazate. In fact, this place is so well-known for its scenic deserts, that this is where Hollywood gets its desert inspiration from. It’s where a few famous movies and TV shows have been filmed, including Lawrence of Arabia and Game of Thrones. If you want to try and spot some Hollywood stars who are in town for filming, book a room at Dar Chamaa as this is most A-lister’s hotel of choice.
