There is something very appealing about going out into a new area without a map. Just exploring, taking your time and going your own way. But, this can lead to a completely wasted trip, and could even be dangerous if you find yourself in an unpleasant area.

 

Have a look online before you head out to find the best shopping areas. You’ll be able to spot the main districts on a map, but you should also do some research to see if there are any less obvious hidden gems you don’t want to miss. Then, print out or pick up a map you can take with you in case you need a little extra guidance.

 

It can also be a good idea to highlight any facilities you need so that you can find them easily.

This is an essential wherever you are, but especially in a hot climate. Take a bottle of water and a few easy to carry, refreshing snacks in case you need refreshments. It’s also a good idea to take emergency supplies such as plasters and any medication you need.

 

A Safe Bag

 

You can never be entirely sure how safe you are in a foreign location. While there’s no need to panic or be put off, it’s always a good idea to make sure you are wearing a bag that’s zipped up and hard to grab. A cross body can be perfect for both safety and comfort.
