TS Day Out at Tanjung Sepat Selangor

While everyone is still asleep on their nice bed, me and Thomas woke up early just to see what Tanjung Sepat has got to offer. Tourism Selangor has prepared a fun filled activity for the entire day!!

A) Chips, chips and chips

We start off with Tapioca Chips Factory!! Chips what so special?? Conveniently available everywhere.

In Arowana Tapioca Chip Factory, we able to walk through the entire chips making process before the slice of chip goes into our stomach.

Fresh Tapioca ready to be peeled!

Each and every Tapioca is peeled carefully by the worker.

Slicing has to be done through the machine for more precise cutting!

Flavour added onto the raw tapioca slice before it is deep fried!

Freshly fried chips are then packed into vacuumed packages to ensure its crispiness and freshness.

Plenty of flavour to choose from pumpkin, spicy dhal to the onion ones..

You can also opt for different colour and shape too…Surely there will be one flavour that suits your taste!!

B) Smurfilicious Mushroom

I’m a fan of both Smurf and mushroom. How could I missed this cute little mushroom Gano Farm! The miracle Red Linzi  Mushroom is packed with ingredients that can help prevent and treat cancer, heal asthma and other respitory problems and cure hypertension!

Monkey Mushroom was something I’ve never come across, and no there will not climb like monkey nor look like monkey! There are anti cancer and anti inflammation and is a good nerve growth stimulator.

Then the one that all of us is familiar with Oyster Mushroom. Only to realize this mushroom that I ate regularly can helps blood circulation and reduce blood pleasure. Should have this more especially during steamboat! Oh perfect for rainy day like now…

Bored of chewing mushroom? They even blend into cool and refreshing drinks! I personally love this Aloe Vera mushroom drink.

Also there is soya, snow jelly, ginseng and many more!

C) Lover Bridge

This would be a place where I would like to walk hand by hand with Thomas! Lovely view over the sea and some colourful ship brighten our eyes!

D) Coffee and Bao!!!

Oh coffee to the rescue for my doopy eyes…

The cute lady explaining how they make the coffee powder.

i) The ripe raw cherry will be hand picked.

ii) The pulp is then removed from the raw cherry leaving the seed/ bean.

iii) Then, the bean will be roast and do you know they actually add Planta (Margarine) during roasting to add more aroma to the coffee?

The roasting machine.

and tadaaa coffee serve in traditional Chinese tea cup..Nostalgic…

The coffee lover, drink with full focus!!

my tummy is calling for food and just the right time!! We are heading to the Hai Yew Bao Maker!

Famous for their Pork and Mei Chai Bao, even Hong Kong Celebrities come all the way to taste their Bao!

There are few type of Pau Flavor:

  • Sen Rou Bao
  • Kaya Bao
  • Tau Sa Bao
  • Mei Chai Bao
  • Vegetable Pao
  • Peanut Bao

The filling is really delish, but the bao is too thick and since we are rushing to other spot we did not waait for them to reheat the Bao. So it is not as soft as I want it to be!

Right infront of the Bao shop this Uncle is selling those old skool Ice Stick.

Each Ice Stick is basically cooled using the ice water seep through the aluminium container. The traditional way, no electric involved!

E) Restoran Asam Batu Laut

Lunch time and this time the table is filled with Seafood and off course start with the Asam Fish! Unlike the common steam Asam Fish, the fish is deep fried and enveloped under the bamboo leave with a pour of Asam sauce is truly a winning dish to me!

Fresh Clam Steam with Chilli Padi can never go wrong..

Choy Sum is stir in a common way…

Choy Po Taufu, smooth internally and skin is crispy too

The prawn color says it all…disappointing!

The last dish was a real surprise…All jaw dropped when Kam Heong Crab is serve! So many dishes already! The crab meat is juicy and sweet. But the sautéed dried shrimp , lemon grass and dark sauce does not seep through the crab meat.

With a total land area of 5 acres, the ecology park consists of a 3½ storey swiftlet house and a visitor centre, surrounded by palm oil plantations and tropical fruit farms which provide plenty of insects, the swiftlet’s favourite food source. The visitor centre is equipped with car park, restrooms, reception lobby, swiftlet gallery, eco theatres, bird nest processing and research centre, sales centre, smoke-free bird nest eco café, eco-garden, green promenade and more interesting features to be explored.

tips: You can skip the documentary video as we all almost fall asleep  with our full stomach.
